Darlene picked up the telephone to make one of the most important calls of her life. She'd been praying about a decision for four years. She didn't know who would answer the call, or exactly what she would say, but she knew God's leading was clear.

She dialed Amazing Facts.

Darlene had been introduced to Pastor Doug a few years earlier. Her son was going to law school in Sacramento and when she visited him, he invited her to attend his church. Darlene had stopped attending church years ago, but she knew her kids were praying for her, so she accepted the invitation.

It was at her son's church that she discovered Pastor Doug, who was a very different kind of preacher. "When Pastor Doug preaches, he's very down-to-earth and easy to understand. It's not theoretical; he shares God in a way that is practical to everyday life," she shares.

Darlene had some rental properties and thought, "I don't want to have property that I'm merely holding on to-I want it to be used for God's work." So she began to pray, "Dear God, please help me get this house paid off so I can give it away in time for You to use it." She didn't even know where she would give it when she started praying. But she prayed, "God, show me where You want this to go."

"I prayed for years, waiting for an answer." There were several places where she could have made her donation, but she noticed how well Amazing Facts stewarded the gifts that came to their ministry. "Stewardship is extremely important to me. No one at Amazing Facts was extravagant, and everyone worked tremendously."

God's answer to her prayers became clear. She thought, "My money will go the furthest at Amazing Facts. They will be good stewards of my gift."

When Darlene contacted Amazing Facts and explained, "I have a house I'd like to give and have no idea what to do," the operator transferred her to Mark Teh, director of planned giving. "I just have to say how much I appreciate Mark," Darlene says. "He made it all so easy and took care of everything."

Two years later, when her next house was paid off, she knew exactly where she was going to give it. "I saw the good work of the first house and the harvest being brought in."

Darlene just donated her third house to Amazing Facts too, specifically to support the new W.O.R.D. Center. She believes God will bless this money far beyond the value of the gift. "I'm a part of helping to fund a studio that will reach people around the world!"
